Individual membership of the Malaysia Numismatic Society (MNS) is open to all Malaysians as well as overseas residents, regardless of race, religion, age or gender. There are several categories of members:
For organizations:
Any numismatist or person interested in the field of numismatics who are citizens of Malaysia above the age of 18 can apply to be an Ordinary Member by paying the entrance fee of RM30 and annual subscription fee of RM50.
Ordinary Members who are Malaysian citizens above the age 18 can apply to the Executive Committee to be a Life Member. Upon approval, a one-time payment of RM500 is required and hence forth be exempted from paying annual fees for life while enjoying all the privileges of an Ordinary Member.
Any young numismatist who has attained the age of 12 years can apply to be a Junior Member by paying the entrance fee of RM10 and annual subscription of RM20 only. The membership of a Junior Member shall cease upon attaining the age of 18 years. Thereafter he/she may apply to be an Ordinary Member or Life Member, and upon application being approved shall be exempted from entrance fee but has to pay the membership fee as per membership category applied for of either ordinary member with annual fee of RM50 or one-time life member fee of RM500.
This category of membership is reserved for applicants who are residing abroad or non-Malaysians above the age of 18 years. Such members shall be eligible to all rights of an Ordinary Member but shall have no voting rights and shall not hold any office in the Society. Applicants will be required to pay an entrance fee of RM100 and annual subscription of RM150.
Members of this group is elected by the Executive Committee of the Society. The Application Form should be signed by a Fellow of the Society. All Fellows are expected to be highly knowledgeable or contributed in the field of numismatics with publications or with an extensive numismatic collection or rendered noteworthy service to the Society. Fellows shall be appointed for life and shall pay a one-time fee of RM1,000. The acronym for a Fellow of the Society shall be FMNS (Fellow of Malaysia Numismatic Society).
Similar to Fellow category above, except that this is for non-Malaysian residents who shall be appointed for life with a one-time fee of RM5,000 and have rights of Ordinary Members except voting and holding any office in the Society.
Honorary Fellowship shall be conferred on person of any nationality who had made distinguished research contributions to the advancement of numismatics and related field on an International and/or National level. They shall be recommended and approved by the Executive Committee. Honorary Fellows shall be appointed for life and shall be exempted from membership fees.
This group shall comprise the inaugural membership of the Society and members of the Society who have served the committee until 2018. All Foundation Fellows shall be knowledgeable or contributed in the field of numismatics with publications or with an extensive numismatic collection or rendered noteworthy service to the Society or collecting community. Foundation Fellows shall be appointed for life and shall be exempted from membership fees. The acronym for a Foundation Fellow of the Society shall be FMNS (Fellow of Malaysia Numismatic Society).

Any club, society or association in Malaysia with objectives similar to the Society may apply to become a Club Member by paying the entrance fee of RM100 and annual subscription of RM150.
Any club, society or association domiciled outside Malaysia with objectives similar to the Society may apply to become an Associate Club Member by paying the entrance fee of RM100 and annual subscription of RM150.
